Who can qualify
- Age 65 or older, blind, or disabled.
- Limited income.
- Resources of no more than $2,000 for an individual or $3,000 for a couple (your home and one car usually do not count).
- U.S. citizen or qualifying noncitizen living in the U.S.
How to apply
Call SSA at 1-800-772-1213 or the Tucson office ((866) 331-7693) to apply or book an appointment. Adults applying for disability can often start SSI at the same time online.
